Our clinical work depends on the support of volunteers helping with administrative tasks and supporting counsellors. We welcome both those who volunteer to give something back and those who are looking for an opportunity to build their skills and confidence. We consider volunteers as unpaid members of staff and apply all our working practices consistently – see our Volunteer Policy. All volunteers receive a full induction, regular supervision and access to training. The roles we generally recruit for are:
⦁ Support worker (reception duties and supporting counsellors)
⦁ Administrator (helping with general office tasks)
⦁ Fundraiser (helping raise funds by completing applications or running events)
This can be a positive and supportive opportunity for people training to be a counsellor or a coach. You get to see the workings of the agency from within the organisation, get exposed to experienced counsellors providing insights and support which will all help when it comes to applying for placements at Signpost or elsewhere.
