Helping young people find their voice

Throughout the year we offer group work, free of charge, for young people who live, work or study in Hertfordshire. Groups will be advertised in this section of the website. Being part of a group can be useful, linking up with others who are also struggling can feel comforting and a good means of support.

If you would like to go onto our group mailing list please submit a group application form (link) and we will notify you when we are next running a group. Some groups will be face to face and some will be through Zoom app. Groups are usually maximum of 6 people. Some of our groups are run by a qualified counsellor, usually for specific subject areas e.g. anxiety and self harm. We have others called TAG groups (Thrive & Go) which are more informal, combining some aspects of counselling with youth work. These can be social groups but still with an emphasis on emotional well being.

All groups are usually arranged in ages, for example, ages 10-12, 13-15, 16-18, 19 plus. Groups are currently being run online and we are planning new face to face groups shortly.

Some examples of our groups are:

  • Anxiety
  • Linked up in lockdown
  • Isolation
  • Bereavement
  • Self esteem/confidence
  • Relationships
  • Motivational skills
  • Arts and crafts/creative workshops
